About Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church
     Our congregation was founded in 1891 in Bridgeton, New Jersey, and is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America  (www.elca.org), and the New Jersey Synod (www.njsynod.org).  Our closing worship service was on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2 pm.  

    What is next for the church building?  We will be looking for new owners of the church building--Hopefully a community of faith that will continue the work of Jesus Christ in this community.  Please reach out to Matthew McDevitt, Property Manager, NJ Synod, ELCA (856-366-5083) with any questions about the property.  For questions about the former congregation, contact Jim Denner, VP (Chief Lay Officer) at 609-364-5843.
